The 60's

The Beatles -

The_Beatles_-_Yesterday.jpg

The Beatles were a rock and pop band from Liverpool, England that formed in the year 1960. John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Star were the amazingly talented men that created this worldwide music phenomenon. These men were fantastic musicians, unsurpassed by anyone in that time period. While the songwriting skills of Lennon and McCartney could not be compared to anyone else, George Harrison was the amazing guitar player that influenced many guitarists in the future, and Ringo Star is one of the most talented drummers till date. Although each member of the band had their chance to impress the world as soloists, it was when they merged that they created the most influential music ever and contributed to the beginnings of genres such as rock, pop, classical and many others. Without their hard work, determination, and gifted abilities, the music that you hear today would not be the same. This first video is of Paul McCartney singing the song "Hey Jude".

This next song"Let It Be" was a very big hit for the Beatles and was written by Paul McCartney when his mother died. After her death he had stated that the words just came to him, creating one of the several mysteries that surrounded this band's magnificence. This is the outcome of what he made.

Beatlemania is a term that was used during the 1960s to describe the intense fan frenzy particularly demonstrated by young teen girls directed toward The Beatles during the early years of their success. This craziness was something that changed America. The Beatles would have to go through intense methods to enter and exit their concerts. This changed the fashion in America because all these young girls would buy and or try to impersonate the clothing of the Beatles. The behaviors of the teens changed, because these young girls wanted to act the way the Beatles did.

This band originally started as a group that mainly composed American blues and R&B songs, but after their huge success in the UK with their hit song "(I Cant Get No) Satisfaction," they were officially established as a Rock n Roll act. Feel free to preview this clip about the song that later became their first international #1 hit and spent four weeks at the top of the charts, establishing the Rolling Stones as a worldwide premiere act.
